Understanding Credits in Qodo

Credits are Qodo's usage-based system that tracks your interaction with our AI-powered features. Every time you use Qodo's AI assistance - whether for code reviews, test generation, or chatting about your project - it consumes credits from your monthly allowance.

How Credits Work

Each time Qodo makes a request to an AI model or uses tools to understand your codebase, it uses credits. For most AI models, each request costs 1 credit. This includes when you ask the AI to review code, generate suggestions, create tests, or analyze your project.

Some premium models consume more credits per request due to their advanced capabilities and higher computational requirements. The exact number of credits used depends on which AI model processes your request.

Credit Allowances

Your monthly credit limit depends on your subscription plan:

  • Free tier users receive a set number of credits each month
  • Teams tier users get a higher monthly allowance
  • Enterprise customers receive custom credit limits based on their needs

Managing Your Credits

Credits reset every 30 days from when you first started using Qodo IDE. You can monitor your remaining balance by clicking the speedometer icon ("Show quota") at the top of Qodo IDE chat.

When you've used all your credits for the current month, you'll see a notification and won't be able to use AI features until your credits reset or you upgrade your plan.

Need More Credits?

If you find yourself running out of credits regularly, consider upgrading to a higher tier plan that better matches your usage needs.
